Server hardware requirements will vary depending on a range of factors including the number of Central Mode POS systems, the number of students in your district, and the number of menu items you sell. We will build a custom proposal for you that takes these factors into consideration. Your proposal will contain one of the following server configurations...

This option is reserved for schools with 1000 Full Time Enrollment or less that have no need for Central Mode POS systems. Perfect for rural, private and parochial schools, SDS ASP is a shared and fully hosted option to allow small schools to obtain the big features of SDS without breaking the bank. This configuration supports unlimited Local POS systems and PaySchools (Separate service agreement required). Because the server is an Application Service Provided (ASP) solution, we worry about the server hardware maintenance, security, antivirus and backups so you don't have to.


For schools with FTE from 1000 to 20,000 students, this option involves dedicated hardware that is, in most cases, installed on the school network. This configuration offers full support for POS systems in both Central and Local mode, your own domain name, SSL certificate, PaySchools and/or RevTrak online payments (Separate service agreement required with PaySchools or RevTrak). Remote installation and ongoing SDS support are both offered via Remote Desktop.

For districts where the FTE is in excess of 20,000 students, contact us for a custom SDS cluster quotation (Multiple servers at multiple strategic locations throughout the district - usually at the High School level). A preliminary network analysis and some architecture time is required to ensure the right fit for each district of this size. Please allow additional time for the custom design of your solution if your district falls into this category.
